Weekly Yojijukugo – 気分転換

Spread the love

This is a back entry, so I’m going with a relatively easy yojijukugo that I believe can be found on the Kanji Kentei Level 3.

This week let’s look at 気分転換 (きぶんてんかん)

This idiom is made up of two compounds, 気分 and 転換.

気分(きぶん kibun)which pretty much means mood.
転換(てんかん tenkan)which means conversion.

So, put that together and you get a “change of mood” or “change of pace.”

The meaning is positive, just like a change of pace has the same positive, refreshing connotation in English.

Sorry for the late update, but I’ll see you next week as scheduled!
